My husband’s face lost all color. Family members exchanged uncomfortable glances while the entire room sat frozen in shock. In a matter of moments, what had been a happy celebration transformed into complete emotional chaos.
Children often speak with brutal honesty because they don’t fully understand the weight of the information they share. My son wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. He simply repeated something he believed was normal.
The rest of the evening collapsed quickly. Some guests quietly left, others tried awkwardly changing the subject, and several relatives pulled me aside asking if I knew what he was talking about.
The truth was — I didn’t.
