There was no yelling. No dramatic confrontation.
As we walked away together, each daughter slipped an arm around my shoulders. We took our graduation photos just as we always imagined—laughing, smiling, and grateful for the family we had built through love rather than circumstance.
It’s simply being there, day after day, when someone needs you the most.
