Divers Reported Missing After Strong Currents

According to preliminary reports, the group of experienced Italian tourists had embarked on a guided diving excursion near a deep channel in Vaavu Atoll, an area internationally known for its vibrant coral reefs, shark encounters, and powerful ocean currents.

Trouble reportedly began when weather and underwater conditions changed rapidly during the dive. Witnesses said strong currents may have separated members of the group from their dive boat within minutes.
