Without saying much, the nurse placed a small worn pink pillow into the grieving widow’s hands.
“At some point,” the nurse reportedly whispered softly, “you should look inside.”
The pillow looked ordinary — faded from years of use, slightly flattened with age, and stitched carefully around the edges. It appeared to be nothing more than a comforting keepsake from the hospital stay her husband had endured during his final weeks.
