By the time she was ten years old, the world knew her face. Casting directors praised her “natural talent,” audiences adored her charm, and adults told her she was lucky to be living the dream. What few people saw — and fewer wanted to acknowledge — was the cost of that dream.

Behind studio gates and flashing cameras, the former child star endured years of emotional neglect, manipulation, and abuse, much of it hidden in plain sight.

“I was working nonstop, but no one ever asked how I was doing,” she recalls. “I was a product before I was a person.”
