While walking with the dog, we found this on the beach.

It could have been something old, something lost, or something carried miles by the currents before finally washing ashore. There’s always a story behind objects like this—one that the ocean keeps mostly to itself. Was it dropped accidentally? Was it part of something bigger? Or had it been drifting for years before ending up here?

The dog, of course, was thrilled—circling around, eager to investigate, as if he had uncovered buried treasure. And in a way, he had.

Moments like these remind us that nature is full of surprises. The beach, often seen as a place of calm and repetition, is constantly changing. Every tide brings something new, something unexpected. Most days, it’s shells or seaweed. Other days, it’s something that makes you stop and wonder.
