What Are Back Dimples?
These indentations are commonly known as Dimples of Venus in women and sometimes called “Dimples of Apollo” in men. They appear where the skin is directly attached to the underlying pelvic bone, specifically near the Posterior Superior Iliac Spine.
Because this area has little muscle or fat between the skin and bone, a small indentation can naturally form—creating the appearance of dimples.
Are They Genetic?
They are not something you can “train” into existence through exercise, though body composition can sometimes make them more or less noticeable.
