At first, there were the usual glances—quick, annoyed, judgmental. The kind we’ve all probably given at some point. But then something shifted.
Then, a flight attendant approached—not with the usual scripted politeness, but with genuine care. She knelt beside the mother, speaking softly, offering to hold the child for a moment so the mother could breathe. There was no obligation in her voice, just kindness.
A woman sitting behind me reached into her bag and pulled out a small packet of snacks, handing it forward with a warm smile. “In case this helps,” she said. The mother hesitated at first, then accepted it with visible gratitude.
