Airlines begin cutting flights

Some airlines have already responded by trimming capacity. European carriers including KLM and others have reduced short-haul schedules, while industry groups have warned that more widespread cancellations could follow if supply conditions worsen.

Airport operators and aviation associations have also raised concerns that storage capacity at major hubs is limited, meaning even short-term disruptions in deliveries can quickly translate into operational constraints.

The International Energy Agency has cautioned that prolonged disruption could lead to worsening shortages and sustained pressure on aviation markets, particularly heading into peak summer travel demand.
