Now, more than a month into the case, police say they are “definitely closer” to identifying the suspect.

Authorities Say Investigation Is Advancing

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos recently confirmed that investigators have gathered substantial intelligence related to the abduction. While officials have not publicly named any suspects, Nanos said detectives are actively analyzing multiple leads and reviewing evidence that could help identify the person responsible.

Investigators are examining surveillance footage from the neighborhood, including doorbell cameras that captured a masked individual approaching Guthrie’s home around the time she vanished. In the footage, the individual appears to be wearing gloves and carrying a backpack while tampering with the home’s camera system.

Authorities are also reviewing additional video showing a suspicious vehicle speeding away from an area about two and a half miles from the home around the same time.

According to officials, the investigation remains active and involves both local detectives and federal agents working together to piece together the timeline of events.
