Ever since I moved into my house a few years ago this thing blinks either red or yellow at night. I can’t tell what it’s for. It’s connected to some wiring in my attic. Any ideas?

1. Smoke or Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Many modern smoke and carbon monoxide detectors have LED indicators that blink in different colors to show their status. A yellow or red blinking light could indicate a low battery, a fault, or simply that the device is active and monitoring. Check if your attic has any hardwired detectors—sometimes these are installed near bedrooms or main living areas but can be tucked away, especially in older homes.
