The Incident

The accident involved Emirates Flight EK521, a Boeing 777 traveling from Thiruvananthapuram in southern India to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The aircraft, carrying 282 passengers and 18 crew members, attempted to land at Dubai International Airport when it crash-landed on the runway around midday. (

Witnesses and footage from the scene showed thick black smoke rising from the aircraft as flames quickly spread across the fuselage. Despite the dramatic images, all passengers and crew members managed to evacuate the aircraft using emergency slides before the fire intensified.

Passengers Escape the Burning Aircraft

Authorities confirmed that all 300 people on board survived the crash landing. Several passengers suffered minor injuries and some were hospitalized, but there were no fatalities among those on the aircraft.

Passengers described a terrifying landing. Some reported seeing smoke inside the cabin as the aircraft hit the runway. Panic spread as people rushed toward the exits while flight attendants guided them through the evacuation process. Within minutes, the aircraft was largely empty as the crew ensured everyone had escaped.
