When Anger Turns Intimidating

Arguments happen in relationships. Disagreements are normal. But when anger crosses into intimidation — when someone blocks your exit, invades your physical space, or uses physical force against objects near you — it stops being “just a fight.”

Punching a wall or door during an argument isn’t simply about damaged property. It can be a form of intimidation. It sends a message: This could have been you.

In that moment, I felt fear more than anything else. My heart was racing. I wasn’t thinking about who was right or wrong anymore — I was thinking about safety.
