The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received an urgent 911 call from the boys’ mother, who said the brothers had been playing near the river and suddenly could not be seen. Emergency units, including local search and rescue teams, launched an immediate operation along the riverbank and within the water. Despite swift efforts, both children were found in the water and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials later confirmed that the victims were 4‑year‑old Banx McAmis and 7‑year‑old Bowyn Miller, young brothers who lived in the area. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death was accidental drowning, and investigators said there was no indication of foul play involved.
