What Is Gyan Mudra?
Gyan Mudra, sometimes called the “Mudra of Knowledge,” is formed by touching the tip of your thumb to the tip of your index finger while keeping the other three fingers extended. The palms can face upward while resting on your knees during meditation, or you can practice it discreetly anytime during the day.
In yogic philosophy, the thumb represents universal consciousness, while the index finger symbolizes individual consciousness. Bringing them together is believed to unite personal awareness with higher understanding.
