Recipe Directions
For the Mince:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.

- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and dried rosemary.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mince for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded together.
For the Tatties:
- While the mince is simmering, place the potatoes in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
- Cook the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, or until tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter and milk to the pot with the potatoes and mash until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
How to Serve
- To serve, spoon the mince onto plates or shallow bowls.
- Top with a generous portion of mashed potatoes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
