Color capture sheets, don’t waste unnecessary money: prepare them at home at no cost

If the fabrics have strong colors and can fade, then they should all be placed together in order not to cause damage. We are talking about colors like red, green and blue. Then there are the pastel colored clothes of pink, yellow and blue which could fade and therefore should always be put together.

The problem arises when you don’t have the time to do more washing, or you want to save money while respecting the environment. Color capture sheets are born, small white sheets that trap all the color that could affect other fabrics in the washing machine. Everyone has a pack of them at home , to be used when disaster is likely to strike.

DIY color capture sheets: ingredients and use

To avoid the risk of damaging the fabrics and letting the colors go around, it is better to create a color catcher sheet, directly at home with a few simple ingredients.

What is needed is the following:

Clean white cloth;
Spoon of laundry soda, 1 tablespoon;
Hot water.

Prepare some squares of white fabric , all of the same size. Take a glass container where you pour hot water and washing soda.

One at a time, the small square of cut fabric will be wetted with the substance and then left to dry completely. Once all the sheets of fabric are completely dry, they are placed in a container or box to be used wash after wash.

Do a small test with a spin in the washing machine or with a hand wash, mixing different colored fabrics. The sheet will capture these colors and the fabrics will be clean and without any damage.
