Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly oil a baking dish that measures 9 by 13 inches.
Get the berries ready: Mix sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl. Put blackberries in a bowl and pour melted butter over them. Sprinkle the cornstarch mixture on top, then mix until everything is evenly covered. Put the mixture into the baking dish.
Cook in the oven that has been preheated until the berries are soft and the crust is a golden brown color, for about 55 to 60 minutes.
